Integrated Oral Care (SA) is the brainchild of Dr Manhar Kalan and established in 2002. Dr Kalan is a dental surgeon with a particular interest in Preventative Oral Health. In addition to private dental practice in the Southern Suburbs of Western Cape over the last 3 decades, he has also lectured at both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels at the UWC Dental Faculty.
In response to the needs of the community and based on his extensive experience over the years, Dr Kalan set about developing affordable, quality dental products with a focus on bristle type. He eventually settled on the ideal toothbrush with a basic soft bristle that avoids dental abrasion.
Recently, Dr Kalan has decided to take Preventative Dentistry further by teaching parents from the start (those first teeth!) on how to care for their family’s oral health and to establish good oral care habits that will carry them through a life a beautiful healthy teeth.
Dr Kalan has a special interest in promoting oral care amongst preschool children and has embarked on special programmes to get children at early childhood centres into the habit of brushing their teeth daily under supervision.
